Why will the eBusinessReady® certification program no longer exist after Dec. 31, 2005?

Drummond Group Inc (DGI) has been associated with the eBusinessReady program through a partnership with GS1 US (formerly the Uniform Code Council, Inc.) for the last three years. The partnership contract will end Dec. 31, 2005. Both parties have mutually decided that the contract will not be renewed and tests for AS1, AS2, AS3 and ebMS will continue under the Drummond Certified program in 2006.

Will the eBusinessReady certification seal be valid after Dec. 31, 2005?

As has always been stated in the eBusinessReady program's terms of agreement, certification is valid for that product only, and only for the specific test and its corresponding Global Service Relation Number (GSRN). This GSRN seal number may continue to be used as a reference in buying products to find specific information on the test date, the products tested in that test round and the technical test specifics. Keep in mind that once your product was certified under the eBusinessReady program, your product's eBusinessReady seal may be used in your marketing tools, including print ads, company communications, sales materials and website. These benefits do not change.

What role will GS1 US have?

GS1 US members will continue to provide important input and support for these test certification events under the Drummond Certified program.

What is the Drummond Certified program?

As an industry- and vendor-neutral software testing and certification program, DGI's Drummond Certified program administers interoperability tests to enable vertical and horizontal interoperability across the global supply chain. DGI also facilitates testing under association-branded certification programs such as the GDSN program. These programs are designed for industries to drive adoption of technical standards and certify a core group of software products to support their supply chain.

DGI has tested hundreds of software products from numerous international companies, including repeat customers such as Electronic Data Systems, GXS, IBM, Oracle, SAA Consultants, SAP, SEEBURGER and Sun Microsystems. Our reach extends across the globe as companies headquartered in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas have participated in conformance and interoperability tests conducted by DGI. As the adoption for critical technical standards use expands globally, DGI now serves a worldwide audience by testing data synchronization, business choreography and interoperability of messaging and security standards for use in multi-national supply chains.

DGI certification programs are utilized by various companies in retail, petroleum, financial services and automotive sectors for selecting products used in their supply chains. These include major corporations such as Wal-Mart, Target, Fannie Mae, General Motors, Lowe's and Volkswagen of America. Supply chains relying on Drummond Certified products can choose from an array of software products which has been tested and certified for interoperability and conformance to standards.

Where will test results be posted?

Test results will continue to be posted on the DGI website under the "Interoperable Products" tab found at www.drummondgroup.com.

Beginning with tests completing in 2006, the eBusinessReady website will no longer have the most current test results for AS1, AS2, AS3 and ebMS. Please note that the DGI website has archived past test results for easy reference. Test results also will continue to be announced in a press release at the completion of each test. If you have specific questions about these changes, please contact us by email at info2@drummondgroup.com.

What type of marketing support will the Drummond Certified program provide?

The Drummond Certified Program will provide marketing and education to end users of the benefits of using interoperable products. These benefits include:

  1. Current test results along with all archived past test results from the eBusinessReady results will be posted on the DGI website under the "Interoperable Products" tab found at www.drummondgroup.com
  2. DGI will issue press releases announcing Drummond Certified test results as well as coordinate press releases with the participating vendors
  3. Drummond Certified program along with the participating vendors will be promoted at various industry trade shows
  4. Research reports on the standards supported by the Drummond Certified program

What are the differences, if any, between the Drummond Certified and eBusinessReady certified programs?

There are no differences to the test specifics. Simply, all products certified since January 2003 until December 2005 have been certified under the eBusinessReady certification program. As of Jan. 1, 2006, all products will be Drummond Certified and all accompanying marketing support will be provided by DGI. Please note that DGI facilitated all testing under eBusinessReady and will continue to be the test facilitator for Drummond Certified and other programs.
