Drummond Group Inc. Selected To Provide GDSN Certification
DGI Will Test GDSN Data Pools to Improve Data Accuracy, Facilitate Worldwide Efficiency for Trading Partners
FORT WORTH, TX -- Dec. 1, 2004 -- Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), a leading interoperability and conformance testing company, today announced that it has been selected as the exclusive Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) data pool certification company. The addition of GDSN tests further expands DGI's international leadership in software and services testing of secure messaging standards to data exchange standards.
The certification program is a testing and evaluation process for global data pools that test interoperability for the GS1 Registry within the GDSN network. Data pools are measured against a set of development standards established by the GS1 Taskforce as well as test plans and criteria defined by DGI. Once a data pool successfully completes the certification, it is listed as certified and available for trading partners to utilize.
"This is an important addition to our position as the leading provider of software and services testing and certification. Our relationship with GDSN expands DGI's reach and further allows us to assist software and services providers in getting their products to market in the most efficient and cost-effective manner," said Rik Drummond, DGI's chief executive officer. "We are able to draw on our extensive experience to assist GDSN in this effort. Further, since DGI has established business relationships with most major software vendors, we are uniquely positioned to provide them with an even greater level of service."
Interoperability certification is critical to the success of GDSN and each test round will utilize DGI's Interoperability Compliance Process¨, a robust interoperability testing methodology which enables data pools to thoroughly test against other participating data pools and the GS1 Registry. In addition, DGI has web-based tools to track important metrics of the program such as the ratio of passed and failed submissions.
