Drummond Validated™ FHIRplace Marks Usage

FHIRplace Standings and Marks
FHIRplace recognizes two distinct standings, and the marks a company may display depend entirely on which one it holds.
FHIRplace Participant identifies an organization that is engaged in the FHIRplace program for a given year. Participation reflects active involvement in FHIRplace testing activity. It does not indicate that the organization has completed multi-party interoperability testing, and it is not a certification or a validation.
Drummond Validated™ identifies an organization that has completed multi-party interoperability testing for a specific use case in a specific test round and met the program’s requirements. Validated organizations receive the Drummond Validated™ seal, displayed within one of three tier badges that denote the extent of their multi-party testing and their level of testing success:
- Bronze — the entry validation tier
- Silver — the intermediate validation tier
- Gold — the highest validation tier
Each Validated badge names the use case tested, the test round (quarter and year), and the tier earned.
Certificate of Validation Details
Drummond Group, LLC (Drummond) issues an official Certificate of Validation for each product that completes the multi-party testing for a FHIRplace use case and meets the related program requirements. FHIRplace Participants do not receive a Certificate of Validation.
The Certificate of Validation states the following:
- Validated company name
- Product name and version
- Use case tested and the standards to which it was tested
- Test round (quarter and year)
- Validation tier earned (Bronze, Silver, or Gold)
Validation date
Drummond Trademark Usage
The Drummond Validated™ seal signifies that the organization completed multi-party interoperability testing for the named use case and test round and met the requirements of the FHIRplace program at the tier shown. The FHIRplace Participant mark signifies base-level participation for the named year only.
The Drummond logo, the Drummond Validated™ seal, and the FHIRplace Participant mark are trademarks of Drummond Group, LLC, and are provided to organizations to display and prove their FHIRplace standing.
HL7® and FHIR® are the registered trademarks of Health Level Seven International, used under license by Drummond. Drummond’s use of these trademarks does not constitute an endorsement by HL7.
The Drummond Logo
The Drummond Logo is often used by companies in referring to their certified product. Users of the Drummond Logo must abide by Drummond’s Brand Guidelines.
FHIRplace Marks
Organizations that complete the FHIRplace program receive a digital mark for use on their website and marketing materials. The mark a company receives matches its standing.
FHIRplace Participant mark. A single mark showing the FHIRplace program name and the participation year. It denotes base-level participation for that year and nothing further. It does not carry a tier and does not reference a use case or test round.
Drummond Validated seal and tier badges. Validated organizations receive the Drummond Validated™ seal presented within one of three tier badges — Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Each badge is specific to one use case, one test round, and one tier. An organization receives a separate badge for each use case and round it validates.
Terms of Use
The Drummond logo, the Drummond Validated™ seal and tier badges, and the FHIRplace Participant mark are trademarks of Drummond Group, LLC.
Each mark is provided only to organizations that have earned the corresponding FHIRplace standing.
The FHIRplace Participant mark denotes base-level participation for the stated year only. It does not indicate testing success, validation, or certification. Participants may not display the Drummond Validated™ seal or any tier badge, and may not state or imply that they are Drummond Validated or Drummond Certified (unless certified or validated via a different Drummond Certification program, at which time they will adhere to that program’s marks usage rules).
A Drummond Validated seal and tier badge are valid only for the specific use case, test round, and tier shown. Other use cases, later test rounds, other products, and versions that have not been validated are not covered and may not use the seal or badge.
An organization may display only the tier it earned. Presenting a Bronze or Silver result in a way that implies a Gold result, or otherwise overstating the tier, is prohibited.
The Certificate of Validation must be used in its entirety.
When the FHIRplace Participant mark, the Drummond Validated seal, or a tier badge is posted on a company’s home page, internal pages, press releases, or marketing materials, it must be hyperlinked to Drummond’s FHIRplace Validated Products webpage – https://www.drummondgroup.com/certified-products/fhirplace-validated-products/
Companies agree to display each mark without alteration, modification, or misrepresentation in any form.
Companies agree to use each mark only in an authorized manner and approved format, according to these guidelines.
The FHIRplace Participant mark is tied to the year shown. At the start of a new program year, a company may display only the current year’s Participant mark and must retire the prior year’s mark. The Drummond Validated seal and tier badge are tied to the test round shown; a company maintains a current credential by re-validating in a later round, which yields a new badge.
Drummond reserves the right to approve or disapprove the use of any mark on a company’s website or marketing materials (size, surrounding text, and similar factors) to confirm it complies with these policies.
Drummond has the right to rescind mark usage at any time.
Use only the mark provided by Drummond, for print or electronic media.
A safe and empty area of 0.5″ must be maintained around each mark.
Each mark must display the year or test round that applies to it, as provided.
Actions for Incorrect References or Incorrect Usage of the Certificates, Seals or Marks
Drummond reserves the right to act against any misuse or unfair, false claims, misleading, diluting, or infringing use of Drummond’s marks or certificates. If Drummond finds that there is incorrect use of the Certificate of Validation or the Drummond marks (the Drummond Validated seal, tier badges, FHIRplace Participant mark, or Drummond logo), Drummond may take the following actions.
Drummond will require a misuser to take corrective action whenever the certificate or mark has been affixed to a product and
- is not authorized to bear the mark because there is no record of the product’s certification or it does not comply with the certification requirements so that the integrity of the mark of conformity is jeopardized
- the use of the mark is unauthorized (e.g., a counterfeit mark)
- the mark is being displayed in violation of any existing agreement
- a FHIRplace Participant represents itself as Drummond Validated or Drummond Certified, or displays a seal or tier badge it did not earn
- an organization displays a validation tier, use case, or test round that does not match what it actually earned
- where there are incorrect references to the Drummond FHIRplace program or misleading use of certificates or marks are found in print or electronic media
Drummond may take corrective actions, which include but are not limited to:
- Removal of Certificate of Validation or mark
- Request re-test and re-validation of the product so that it complies with certification requirements
- Take necessary and appropriate legal action
Drummond reserves the right, at any time and without cause, to modify or suspend these policies and withdraw any permission granted to a company to use the certificate or mark. Drummond also reserves the right to act against any misuse or unfair, false claims, misleading, diluting, or infringing use of Drummond’s mark or certificates.
