In 1999, Rik Drummond and Beth Morrow co-founded Drummond Group with a focus on global interoperability software testing and certification in retail and consumer goods. Their vision was for all IT systems in the supply chain to be interoperable and ensure global, automated, secure, reliable interactions resulting in the complete modernization of electronic commerce. The largest retail corporation in the world endorsed this vision and required its suppliers to become interoperable through Drummond’s AS2 certification establishing the company as a pioneer and early leader in this critical business initiative.
Drummond foresaw the value of bringing similar interoperability and secure exchange of information for electronic healthcare records (EHRs) to the healthcare industry. In 2010, it evolved its expertise to become a visionary and market leader in certifying EHR software systems. As the healthcare industry pushed efforts to deliver security and integrity of pharmaceuticals across the value chain, Drummond also began testing and certification services for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to reduce the potential for diversion and subsequent abuse of controlled substances. Over the years, more than 3,000 software applications have been Drummond Certified™ and this certification seal is widely recognized and respected by software customers across multiple industries. Customers who gain the Drummond Certified™ seal can claim compliance to industry standards and interoperability.
Drummond has expanded the value it delivers to clients through acquisitions and strategic investments in the areas of compliance, privacy, cybersecurity and assurance. Our programs have grown to include patient safety, pediatric specialties, drug safety and consumer privacy.
