Our Story

Drummond is your independent and trusted partner providing industry and technical expertise to ensure compliance and interoperability for two decades.

Rik Drummond and Beth Morrow co-founded Drummond in 1999 with a focus on global interoperability software testing and certification in retail and consumer goods. Drummond had a vision for all IT Systems in the supply chain to have global, automated, secure, reliable interactions resulting in the complete modernization of electronic commerce.  The largest corporation in the world endorsed Drummond’s vision and required their suppliers to become interoperable through Drummond’s AS2 certification establishing the company as a pioneer and early leader in this critical business initiative.

Drummond foresaw the value of bringing similar interoperability and secure exchange of information for electronic healthcare records (EHRs) to Healthcare Industry.  In 2010, we evolved our expertise to become a visionary and market leader in certifying EHR software systems. As the healthcare industry evolved and needed security and integrity of pharmaceuticals across the value chain, Drummond began testing and certification services for the DEA to reduce the potential for diversion, and subsequent abuse of controlled substances. Most recently, Drummond helped develop the GS1 Conformance Testing Service to help detect stolen, contaminated or counterfeit drugs.

In 2015, Rik Drummond made the decision to retire and Brian Gibb became the CEO as he shared Rik’s vision as business partners since 1999. Brian has expanded the value Drummond brings to clients through acquisitions and strategic investments in the areas of compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, and assurance.

Moving forward, Drummond is committed to innovation and collaboration with clients, industry communities, and standards organizations to understand emerging business challenges and to develop compliance and certification solutions that drive security, interoperability, and financial results for our clients. Near term opportunities that we are exploring include patient safety, pediatric specialties, drug safety and consumer privacy.
