FHIRplace ePA Pilot Program

ePA Full-Matrix Interoperability Testing Pilot

Call for Participation: Join the Drummond 2025 FHIRplace ePA Pilot Event and Shape the Future of Healthcare Interoperability

Lead The Way In ePA

Announcing Drummond’s FHIRplace ePA pilot interoperability testing event launching in mid 2025, focused on the Da Vinci Implementation Guide (IG) for electronic Prior Authorization (ePA). This event offers a unique opportunity for early adopter developers, providers, and payers to advance this major and evolving FHIR-based standard for value-based care. FHIRplace testing events provide a Drummond-facilitated environment for implementers to test with each other, identify interoperability issues that inevitably arise, resolve the issues, re-test, and ultimately prove the interoperability of their systems.

Who Should Participate?

The pilot is open to healthcare providers, payers, intermediaries, and health IT developers who have or will have significant existing ePA implementations by early 2025 and have invested in self-testing using conformance testing tools, participated in one or more HL7 Connectathons, or engaged in one or more ePA pilot projects with partners. You must be committed to testing with other implementers and collaboratively working together with other test participants to resolve uncovered interoperability issues, fix your code, and retest to confirm issue resolution.

Required Commitment

Event Timeline

Start Date: Early Q2 2025

End Date: Specific end dates will be communicated as the event approaches.

Anticipated Time Commitment

FHIRplace test events are virtual. Participants should plan to dedicate 1-2 hours per week for meetings, with additional time for setup, testing, and feedback sessions adjusted based on individual solution requirements. Participants who want to experience the benefits of the test automation capabilities of the FHIRplace platform, must develop FHIRplace client integration, a one-time effort typically taking 4-6 weeks, aided by a Drummond provided software development kit and dedicated support.

Participation Benefits

  • Drummond FHIRplace interoperability testing is primarily an advanced quality assurance mechanism. By participating in our ePA pilot, you will be at the forefront of production-ready ePA solutions in the market and will demonstrate competitive advantage and organizational readiness.
  • Be at the forefront of helping to define the ePA test cases prioritized for the pilot. Drummond expects to test only a portion of ePA in this first pilot, and the pilot test participants will help finalized the test suite. (Subsequent ePA pilots are expected, which will eventually lead to an “end to end” ePA FHIRplace test event some time in 2026).
  • Be recognized as a key contributor to improving the Da Vinci ePA IGs by helping to uncover new interoperability issues, recommend their resolution, and recommend updates to the underlying IGs as needed.
  • Network and collaborate with leading-edge peers to accelerate the maturity of the Da Vinci IGs.

Save Your Spot

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this unique extended engagement to help ensure the success of FHIR for transformative value-based care.

Please note, there will is a fee associated with test event participation.
