Building a Safer Future: Championing Initiatives That Empower Trustworthy AI

Over the last several years, artificial intelligence has become increasingly integrated into many facets of human life, making it more important than ever to ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed with ethical principles in mind. At Drummond, we recognize the critical importance of ensuring that AI technologies are deployed responsibly which is why we’re proud to announce our participation in two groundbreaking initiatives aimed at advancing ethical AI implementation.

To start, Drummond has partnered with the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), a collaborative group dedicated to establishing fundamental principles and standards for developers, users, and healthcare entities involved in health AI. The coalition’s mission aligns perfectly with Drummond’s values, as it believes in the importance of assessing, governing, and communicating the safe and effective performance of AI systems across their entire lifespan.

In addition to working with CHAI, Drummond Group has also joined the U.S. AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) which includes more than 200 leading AI stakeholders. The group was initiated by the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and is comprised of AI creators and users, academics, government and industry researchers, civil society organizations, and private entities who are all wholeheartedly dedicated to promoting ethical AI practices across various industry sectors. While participants in the group are operationally diverse, they are united by a common goal to collaborate with key policymakers and address the numerous challenges and opportunities that exist in AI safety. This work will build towards creating a foundational understanding of AI’s transformative potential while also ensuring that safety and ethical considerations remain paramount in the pursuit to innovate AI further.

The Drummond team participated in both initiatives as they believe diversified global cooperation is critical in shaping a future where AI technologies enhance human well-being while still upholding the highest standards of safety and reliability. As a result, the team is truly excited to embark on our respective journey with CHAI and our fellow AISIC consortium members to make meaningful and consistent contributions to the advancement of trustworthy AI development.
