ONC’s SVAP 2023 Standards Advancement

ONC’s SVAP 2023 Standards Advancement

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has announced its 2023 standards under the Standards-Version Advancement Process (SVAP). These six new regulations will be available by September 11, 2023, and test tools like ETT, Cypress, and Inferno will be updated by year’s end.

These standards offer tangible benefits for healthcare providers and patients. Providers can enjoy streamlined operations and improved interoperability, enhancing patient care and data security. With better interoperability, healthcare transitions become smoother as medical records can be easily shared between providers.

From a patient’s perspective, these standards can lead to better care and potentially lower costs. Improved data security builds patient trust, while efficient information sharing can reduce unnecessary procedures, saving time and money.
